Q: Do you have to have a stage in order to perform in our space?
A: No. ETC requires at least a 20’x30’ playing area. This is the space where the set will go and the actors will perform. This is separate from the audience area. Many times we perform on a cafeteria or gymnasium floor. A big open space can work as well.
Q: How much equipment do you have to load in?
A: Although our sets vary in size, we travel with them in a trailer. So, it is important that we are able to load in as close to the performance site as possible.
Q. What plays are going to be on tour in the 2008-2009 school year?
A. Vote?, Interrupting Vanessa, The Great Alphabet Adventure
Q. How much does a tour cost?
A. Fees vary depending on location and number of shows/days booked. Please call the ETC Booking Manager for more information at (727) 712-2743.
Q. When is the payment due?
A. Final payment is due on the day of the performance.
Q. Will I be contacted before the scheduled performance?
A. Yes. You will be contacted several weeks prior to ETC arriving at your venue. The Coordinator will go over the technical details and then the Company Manager will touch base one last time a few days before the show.
Q. Do you offer grants?
A. If you are a school or theater in Florida, ETC is part of the State Touring Roster and you may be eligible for funding. For more information, please visit: http://www.florida-arts.org/grants/statetouring/
Q. Will you do performances in the evenings or on weekends?
A. Yes.
Q. Does ETC tour over the summer?
A. No. Our touring season follows the school calendar year.
Q. What age groups are ETC productions appropriate for?
A. All our shows are geared toward specific age levels, ranging from pre-k through high school and family audiences.
Q. Are the shows educational?
A. ETC provides high caliber curriculum based performances. Study guides are available for your use in conjunction with each show.
Q. How long does a performance last?
A. Our shows run 50-60 minutes, including a short Q&A after the performance.
Q. How many performances can you do in one day?
A. Two performances are included in the full day rate. A third show or workshops can be added.
Q. Can you book a workshop without booking the show?
A. The workshop is a tool to extend the artistic and educational experience of the performance. It is highly recommended that one is used in conjunction with the other.
Q. How large is the cast?
A. There are 4-5 cast members in each ETC production.
Q. How many students are allowed to watch a performance?
A. Depending on your seating capacity, we can perform for audiences of 10 or 2000. If the show is ‘in the round’, which you would know when you booked it, the maximum capacity is 300.
Q. How long does it take to set up and break down the show?
A. Load in takes up to 2 hours and load out takes up to 1 hour.
Q. How much reset time is needed if the cast is doing more that one performance at a school?
A. ½ hour. If you book 2 shows, the start times need to be 2 hours apart (i.e.: 10am and 12pm)
Q. Will you perform outdoors?
A. No. ETC only performs indoors.
Q. What kind of equipment is needed for a show?
A. All of our sound equipment is self contained, but if compatible, we can patch into your professional sound system. We do not travel with our own lighting, so we can adjust to what is made available to us. We will need access to electricity.
Q. Can we take photographs or videotape the performance?
A. No. Due to copyright infringement, we do not allow photography or video during the performance. However, the cast is happy to pose with you for photos after the show.
Q. What else are we expected to provide for the cast upon arrival?
A. ETC requires separate dressing areas for male and female actors with close access to the performance area. We require that water be provided for ETC actors at all performances. If the company must arrive at your venue prior to 7:30am, we ask that you provide breakfast snacks (i.e.: bagels, fruit, coffee).
