Eckerd Theater Company (ETC), based at The Marcia P. Hoffman Performing Arts Institute at Ruth Eckerd Hall, is a professional company of full-time adult actors touring 9 months of the year throughout the Eastern United States. Each year, ETC presents three plays for grades K-3, 2-5, and middle/high school students and family audiences. Actors also are trained to lead workshops and discussions of the plays. Rehearsals and touring begin in July/August of each year. The tour continues through the end of the school year. Actors will sometimes be on the road for a month at a time, traveling throughout the Southeast and north as far as Canada.
Casting occurs during the late spring and early summer months, with additional casting sessions at Ruth Eckerd Hall on an as-needed basis throughout the year. Resumes are kept on file in case cast replacements are needed, or to contact actors for the following season.
ETC attends the Florida Professional Theatres Association (FPTA) auditions in May.
