PASS (Performing
Artists in Schools) Program
- Underwrite
artist fees of performers/instructors to bring the arts into schools
unable to afford arts experiences for students (10 experiences @ $500
each) (can designate specific school to receive)
The Chocolate
Nutcracker Community Project
- Support
costs of professional artists (directors, choreographers, dancers, instructors)
to audition, cast, teach and prepare for performances 100-150 area youth,
many of minority or disadvantaged backgrounds, over a 3 month period,
culminating in public performances on-stage at Ruth Eckerd Hall
- Provide
technical support for the production, i.e. costume and set design and
purchase/rental
Eckerd
Theater Company (ETC)
- Sponsor
the national tour for 2000-2001
- Provide
one performance and accompanying workshop for school of choice
Weekend
Family Theater
Community Arts Education Program
- Provide
6-week after school or summer program for students in inner city communities
- Enoch D. Davis Center in St. Petersburg, Martin Luther King Jr. Center
or the Condon Gardens area in Clearwater (examples: To Be Young, Black
& Gifted; Black Authors Drama Workshop)
- Purchase
tickets to performances for distribution through nonprofit service organizations
to deserving children, families
Adventures
in the Arts Summer Classes
- Underwrite
10 scholarships for at risk or disadvantaged children to attend one
session of summer classes (2 wk)
- Underwrite
five full or 10 partial scholarships to assist deserving middle school
students to attend Next Stop Broadway summer production class (4 wk)
The Arts
Go To School (Teacher Training Seminars)
Ruth Eckerd
Hall Youth Scholarships in the Performing Arts
- Underwrite
the cost of one scholarship (includes awards for runners-up, adjudicators'
honorariums, etc.)
- Underwrite
the cost of the program for one year (four categories)
